We had a live brief last term to design a poster for a Latin American carnival in London called Carnival Del Pueblo. The winning entry has just been put up along with all the other entries at http://www.carnavaldelpueblo.co.uk/news.htm and I can’t say I’m impressed. I knew the winner was going to be bad when the organisers sent out the following email.
“We want to let you know that due to opinion differences with the Carnaval del Pueblo Committee, the Internationa Jury vote was annulled.
The International Jury and the contest coordinator decline all responsability on the Committee’s final decision.”
I really didn’t think it was going to be as bad as this however.
Now I’m not saying my entries were much better, but they never stood a chance when this is the chosen entry. I think everyone knew what it was going to be like when we were told the “Carnaval Del Pueblo” logo was manadatory!
